After the Toncoin → Gram rebrand announcement on June 1, 2026, exchanges and wallets will gradually update the ticker from TON to GRAM. This transition does not happen at once — each has its own pace.

This article is a live status tracker: which exchanges and wallets have switched, which are in process, which haven’t announced yet. Updated as real data comes in.

What’s supposed to happen

Technically — nothing. The ticker swap from TON to GRAM is just a metadata string each platform updates independently:

  • Exchanges: update pair display name (e.g. TONUSDTGRAMUSDT)
  • Wallets: update balance display name (5.0 TON5.0 GRAM)
  • Aggregators: update asset name (CoinGecko, CoinMarketCap, DefiLlama)
  • Explorers: update the ticker in the Tonviewer/Tonscan UI

Full transition to GRAM will take no more than 3 weeksDurov stated this in the announcement.

User checklist

Day 1–3 after announcement (June 1–4)

  • Don’t panic, don’t take unnecessary actions
  • Confirm you hold native TON (not the jetton GRAM) — see our confusion-buster
  • Enable auto-update for wallets in App Store / Google Play
  • Subscribe to your exchange’s Twitter for notifications

Week 1 (June 1–8)

  • Mainstream exchanges (MEXC, Bitget, OKX, Bybit) start showing GRAM ticker
  • Dual TON/GRAM display is normal during transition
  • Open orders migrate automatically
  • Deposits and withdrawals operate without changes

Weeks 2–3 (June 8–22)

  • Tonkeeper, MyTonWallet, Tonhub ship UI updates
  • Most exchanges complete GRAM-only transition
  • Aggregators (CMC, CoinGecko, DefiLlama) fully switch
  • By end of week 3 — transition should be done

After week 3 (June 22 onwards)

  • The old TON ticker still works in most exchange APIs (backward-compat)
  • DEX aggregators may show both names for a while
  • If you still see the old ticker stuck somewhere — contact the service’s support

Possible surprises and risks

Surprise 1: some exchanges may delay

Hypothetically, Coinbase or Kraken may not switch immediately — there’s precedent (LUNA → LUNC, CRO restart). It’s not a refusal, just a slow transition.

Surprise 2: GRAM jetton confusion

Bybit, MEXC, and Bitget historically listed the Gram jetton (PoW token from 2024). With the native coin switching to GRAM, they’ll need to either:

  • Rename the jetton to GRAM2 / GRAM-JETTON
  • Or delist the jetton
  • Or keep both tickers with different suffixes

This rebrand of third-party assets is a potential source of UI bugs in the first week.

Surprise 3: API breakage

If your bot / app / API client hardcodes the TON ticker, it may break during automated exchange transitions to GRAM. Worth checking your code:

  • Trading bots on TON pairs — update ticker mappings
  • DCA scripts — verify the new ticker is recognized
  • Custom TON integrations — check whether the literal TON string is used for display

Surprise 4: tax reports

If you prepare tax reports via automated services (CoinTracker, Koinly), there may be disorientation: the same coin appears as TON and GRAM in history. Most services add automatic mapping, but review the report manually before filing.

What to do if something goes wrong

Exchange doesn’t show my balance under TON or GRAM

  • Wait 24–48 hours (UI bug possible in early days)
  • Check via the exchange’s REST API — the issue may be only in the web UI
  • If it persists — contact exchange support

Wallet shows “0 GRAM” instead of the real balance

  • Force-refresh balance (pull to refresh)
  • Reinstall the app and restore via seed
  • Check balance on tonviewer.com — accurate data there

I sent TON to another user’s address, and they say they received “an unknown coin”

  • That’s normal — they received native GRAM (former TON). If their wallet hasn’t updated, they see “TON.” If updated, they see “GRAM.” Same coin.

Frequently asked

As of June 1, 2026, MEXC and Bitget announced first — showing dual TON/GRAM ticker in their listing cards in the first days. Bybit, OKX and HTX confirmed they will switch within 1–2 weeks. Binance and Kraken haven't commented yet, but historically Binance moves fast on new tickers (Matic → POL took ~5 days).
Nothing dramatic. When changing the ticker, exchanges automatically migrate open orders to the new pair. For instance, an order 'buy 10 TON at $4.50' becomes 'buy 10 GRAM at $4.50.' No cancellations or recreations needed.
No, no action needed in the first days. Wallets ship updates gradually via App Store and Google Play. Tonkeeper typically takes 1–2 weeks for major updates; MyTonWallet is a bit faster. Just enable auto-update in your app store settings and the wallet will receive the GRAM ticker within 1–3 weeks.
There shouldn't be. Deposit addresses don't change — they're technical TON addresses tied to your exchange account. Exchanges keep accepting deposits under TON or GRAM ticker (whichever they have updated their UI to). If you want guarantees, wait 2–3 days after each exchange's official announcement before large deposits.
Normal during the transition. Wallets typically lag exchanges by 1–2 weeks. UI inconsistency doesn't affect functionality — transfers between wallet and exchange work fine. Just remember: technically it's the same coin under different names.
We maintain a live tracker in this article (see tables below). Additional sources: the CoinMarketCap GRAM page updates exchange listing status. Each exchange's Twitter and account notifications publish official announcements. Each wallet's Twitter posts release news for the GRAM-UI update.
Theoretically yes, but practically very unlikely. Tickers are set by exchange teams based on project metadata from CoinMarketCap/CoinGecko. When CMC updates from TON to GRAM, exchanges follow quickly. A delay means operational slowness, not refusal. The only exchanges that might delay on principle are those with strong opinions (Coinbase did so briefly during LUNA → LUNC, then switched).
