Tonhub

Non-custodial mobile TON wallet built by the Whales Corp team. Best known for its tight integration with the Whales staking pool and standard TON Connect support.

Aliases: tonhub wallet

Tonhub is a non-custodial wallet for the TON network, developed by Whales Corp. It is one of the older mobile wallets in the ecosystem: during the early days of TON, Tonhub was the first client through which many users ever saw their address and balance.

Form factors

  • iOS and Android — the main Tonhub clients; historically, the mobile app is the face of the project.
  • Desktop usage is typically through pairing: the mobile app scans a QR from a website (the standard TON Connect flow).

Unlike Tonkeeper and MyTonWallet, Tonhub does not span as many surfaces — that is a deliberate focus on the mobile scenario.

What it supports

  • Toncoin, jettons, NFTs — the standard TON asset set.
  • TON Connect — a built-in TON Connect 2 client connecting the wallet to dApps and Telegram Mini Apps via the standard protocol. In the ecosystem’s early phase, Tonhub was among the first wallets to ship TON Connect.
  • Staking via Whales Pool — the headline feature. Tonhub offers one-click delegation into the pool operated by the Whales team, which runs a meaningful share of TON’s nominator-pool infrastructure. Staking goes through the standard nominator mechanism, without issuing an LST.
  • Wallet version support — both v4R2 and v5R1/W5.

Whales Corp is both the Tonhub team and the operator of one of TON’s larger nominator pools. This duality shapes the wallet: staking into Whales Pool is exposed right on the balance screen rather than buried under menus. For users who want simple, predictable staking through a direct nominator (without an LST token or DeFi composability), Tonhub is the natural choice.

LST protocols (Tonstakers, Hipo, bemo) build their own infrastructure on top of validator capacity — some of which belongs to Whales — but that is a different layer. Tonhub itself stays at “wallet plus direct nominator-pool staking”.

Where Tonhub fits

  • Long-term TON holding with staking. A “deposit and forget” scenario with predictable yield.
  • Telegram Mini Apps. Works like any TON Connect client; there are no compatibility caveats.
  • Early TON users. Many people who set up a wallet before 2023 still use Tonhub by habit and because of the staking flow they are used to.

Where users tend to pick other wallets

If the primary scenario is active desktop DeFi or rapid connections to many dApps, MyTonWallet with its browser extension is more convenient. If the priority is the broadest out-of-the-box feature set (swap, mini-apps, NFT marketplaces, Ledger support), Tonkeeper is usually the flagship pick. Tonhub holds its niche as a mobile wallet with built-in staking from the same operator.

Security

Tonhub is non-custodial; keys never leave the device. The usual rules apply:

  • Keep the seed phrase offline; never enter it on third-party sites.
  • When staking through Whales Pool, remember the unstaking cycle (one validator round) — this is not an LST, so it cannot be swapped back instantly without exiting the pool.
  • For dApp connections, verify the domain on the TON Connect prompt.
