Tonkeeper

Non-custodial wallet for the TON network: mobile apps, a browser extension, Ledger support, TON Connect, jettons and NFTs. One of the most widely used wallets in the ecosystem.

Aliases: tonkeeper wallet

Tonkeeper is a non-custodial wallet for the TON network. Private keys live on the user’s device and never leave it; the Tonkeeper team has no access to funds and cannot freeze accounts.

Form factors

Tonkeeper ships in several clients:

  • iOS and Android apps — the main entry points, with biometric unlock and push notifications for incoming transactions.
  • Browser extension — a separate extension for Chromium browsers, used for connecting to dApps on desktop via TON Connect.
  • Tonkeeper Web — a web-only version for users who prefer not to install an app.
  • Ledger — support for Ledger hardware wallets through the dedicated TON app in Ledger Live.

The same seed can be used across multiple devices; the wallet syncs over the local network or via a QR code.

What it supports

  • Toncoin, jettons, NFTs — the standard TON asset set. USDT (the Tether jetton) is shown as a first-class asset with balance and history.
  • TON Connect — a built-in TON Connect 2 client for connecting to websites and Telegram Mini Apps in one click.
  • Built-in swap — exchange between TON, USDT and major jettons via integrations with DEXes (STON.fi, DeDust).
  • Staking — a native staking tab with a list of pools (Tonstakers, bemo, Hipo, Whales, and others). The wallet does not run staking itself; it sends a transaction to the chosen pool.
  • Wallet versions — support for v4R2 and v5R1/W5, switchable in settings. New installs default to v5R1.

Project background

Tonkeeper grew out of a small team that came from the early TON community. The mobile apps and supporting SDKs are open-source and published on the team’s GitHub. The wallet appeared shortly after TON’s mainnet launch and quickly became a reference point for other products in the network.

Security

Standard non-custodial-wallet hygiene applies to Tonkeeper:

  • The seed phrase is shown once on creation. Store it offline (paper, metal); never take a screenshot.
  • Biometrics (Face ID / fingerprint) guard app access but do not replace the seed: if the device is wiped, only the seed can recover funds.
  • TON Connect shows the dApp’s domain on the signing screen — always check that you are signing for the intended site, not a phishing clone.
  • Ledger support covers the case where the size of the holdings justifies hardware protection of the key.

Where Tonkeeper fits

Tonkeeper is the typical default for a new TON user: installation is simple, Telegram Mini App support is solid, and swap plus staking are built in. For more complex DeFi flows, many users keep MyTonWallet (extension) and/or Tonhub (for native Whales staking) alongside it.
