Symbol (gift attribute)
An attribute of an upgraded Telegram gift — a small repeating icon scattered across the backdrop. One of three random attributes that drive the gift's rarity and secondary-market value.
Aliases: gift symbol, symbol attribute, telegram gift pattern
A symbol is a small repeating icon — emoji-like — that tiles across the surface of an upgraded Telegram gift. It is the third rolled attribute alongside the model variant and backdrop.
What the symbol controls
- Pattern visuals — icons are arranged across the gift, usually in a diagonal pattern.
- Rarity — every collection ships with its own symbol pool, each entry weighted differently.
- Theme — symbols are usually thematically tied to the collection (e.g. pepe-related icons for Plush Pepe).
Effect on price
A rare backdrop combined with a rare symbol produces a multiplicative price effect. Items with two rare attributes typically trade at a noticeable premium over those with only one, even when the model variant is identical.
Context on TON
Once the gift is upgraded, the symbol is recorded in the TEP-64 metadata of the resulting NFT. Marketplaces parse this metadata and display the symbol on the item card, usually with a “Symbol: <name>” label and a “X of Y minted have this symbol” rarity counter.
