TL;DR. Binance is the world’s largest crypto exchange with deep TON liquidity, but RF residents have been restricted since 2024. This guide is for users outside Russia (EU, UAE, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Turkey, Georgia, etc.). KYC passes with local ID, deposits via SEPA/wire/crypto, spot TON/USDT at 0.1% fee, futures up to 50x (use 2-3x max). Withdrawal to TON network costs ~0.1 TON fixed. For long-term storage: move immediately to a self-custodial wallet.

Regional access status in 2026

Binance remains the largest exchange by volume, but two years of regulatory pressure have narrowed its footprint:

  • Full access: EU (via Binance France/Italy/Spain entities), UAE, Turkey, Georgia, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Serbia, Uzbekistan, most of Latin America and Southeast Asia.
  • Restricted: US (Binance.US only, no TON listing), Canada (since the 2023 exit), UK (institutional only), Netherlands (limited).
  • Closed: Russia (registration closed since 2024, asset conversions to equivalents, gradual wind-down).

If you hold a Russian passport but reside in another country, you can usually clear KYC using local ID + proof of address. If you physically live in RF and try to bypass via VPN — direct ToS violation, with account-freeze risk.

Step 1: registration and KYC

  1. Go to binance.com (not .ru — it redirects to restricted regions).
  2. Email + password + 2FA (Google Authenticator, not SMS — SIM swap).
  3. Complete KYC:
    • Identity Verification: passport or national ID from your country of residence plus a selfie holding the document. Auto-recognition usually takes 5-30 minutes.
    • Address Verification (optional, required for SEPA): bank statement or utility bill ≤3 months old, PDF in your name.
  4. After Verified status, withdrawal cap is typically 100 BTC/day — practically unlimited for TON.

Step 2: funding the account

Three main routes:

A) Crypto deposit (fast, cheap)

If you already have USDT on another wallet or exchange:

  1. Binance → Wallet → Deposit → Choose USDT → Choose network (TRC20 / ERC20 / BEP20 / TON).
  2. Pick the network carefully. If you send USDT on TON to an address Binance expects on TRC20, funds are lost permanently.
  3. Copy the address or QR code.
  4. On the sending side, select the same network and address.
  5. Network confirmation takes 1-30 minutes depending on the chain.

Deposit fee — 0 (you pay only the source-network fee).

B) Fiat via SEPA / SWIFT (EU)

  • SEPA EUR transfer — typically 0 Binance fee, 0-5 EUR bank fee. Funding 0-2 business days.
  • SWIFT wire — 15-20 USD bank fee, 1-5 days.
  • Bank lookups: Binance requires the sender name to match the account holder. Third-party transfers will not credit.

C) P2P (for regions without bank rails)

Binance P2P is a marketplace where local makers sell USDT for fiat (rubles via foreign bank, tenge, lira, lari). You buy at the maker’s rate, Binance fee is 0%, but the maker bakes 1-3% into the price.

P2P etiquette:

  • Pay only using the method listed in the ad.
  • Don’t write “crypto” or “USDT” in the bank transfer memo.
  • Release escrow only after confirmed bank credit — not “I promise to send.”

Step 3: buying TON

After USDT lands on your spot account:

Spot Trading (best price)

  1. Trade → Spot → search TON/USDT.
  2. Market order for immediate buy at current price (light slippage 0.05-0.1%).
  3. Limit order to buy at a specific price (may not fill).
  4. Stop-limit for trigger logic (buy if price breaks a level).

Convert (convenience)

Binance → Convert → TON/USDT — instant swap without an order book. Slightly wider spread than spot (usually +0.1-0.2%) but zero fee. Good for one-off purchases.

Buy with Card (most expensive, simplest)

If you don’t have USDT yet, you can buy TON directly with Visa/Mastercard. Third-party fee (Simplex/Mercuryo) is 2-4%, plus currency conversion charged by your bank. Use only if no other option exists.

Step 4: withdraw TON to a self-custodial wallet

This is the critical step for long-term holdings:

  1. Open Tonkeeper or MyTonWallet and copy your TON address.
  2. Binance → Wallet → Withdraw → select TON.
  3. Network: The Open Network (TON) — do not confuse with other chains.
  4. Paste the address — Binance auto-recognises TON format.
  5. Memo/Tag: Binance withdrawal does not require a memo, leave empty (unlike withdrawing TON to another CEX).
  6. Enter amount → confirm via email + 2FA → submit.

Empirical 2024-2025: fixed TON withdrawal fee ~0.1 TON, network confirmation 30-60 seconds after Binance approval (which itself takes 5-15 minutes).

Spot vs futures on TON

Spot

  • TON/USDT, TON/BTC, TON/EUR (on European entities).
  • Maker/taker 0.1%/0.1%, with BNB discount 0.075%/0.075%.
  • Deep liquidity, slippage negligible up to $100K trade.

Futures

Binance Futures offers TON-USDT-PERP (perpetual):

  • Leverage up to 50x — realistic use 2-3x.
  • Funding rate settles every 8 hours between longs and shorts. Empirical 2024-2025: range −0.05% to +0.1% per 8h.
  • Maker fee 0.02%, taker fee 0.05%.
  • Minimum lot 0.01 TON equivalent.

When Binance is the best fit vs not

Binance is ideal if:

  • You’re a non-RF resident wanting maximum liquidity.
  • You want spot + futures + Earn in one place.
  • You’re comfortable keeping KYC documents on-exchange.
  • Your trading volume justifies VIP discounts (>$1M/month).

Binance is overkill if:

  • You’re buying TON once for holding — Bybit/OKX have cheaper withdrawals and softer KYC.
  • You want anonymity — Binance gives zero anonymity.
  • You’re an RF resident — ToS violation, account-freeze risk.

Binance is not for you if:

  • US resident — Binance.US doesn’t list TON.
  • You want DeFi yield on your TON — Binance Earn pays 2-3% APR, whereas bemo/Tonstakers pay 5-7% APR in TON.

Risks

  1. Custodial risk. Binance holds your key, you don’t. CZ stepped down, SEC oversight, new CEO; periodic FUD episodes (like late 2023). Don’t store >$10K long-term.
  2. Regulatory risk. Any jurisdiction can re-evaluate Binance’s status. Account freezes happened to Russians in 2024, Venezuelans in 2022, Iranians permanently.
  3. Phishing. binanace.com / b1nance.com — typical lookalike domains. Use only binance.com via a browser bookmark.
  4. SIM swap. If 2FA is via SMS, your number can be transferred to an attacker. Use authenticator app only.
  5. Withdrawal whitelist. Enable in Security Settings — withdrawals only to pre-approved addresses, with 24-hour delay on adding new ones. Gives you time to notice a breach.

Bottom line

For a non-RF Russian-speaking user, Binance is a workable and often optimal venue for buying TON, spot trading, and (with discipline) futures. KYC clears in 30 minutes, SEPA deposit lands same day, spot trades with minimal spread, fixed withdrawal fee. Core rules: 2FA on authenticator, withdrawal whitelist, and never keep more than active-trading capital on-exchange. Long-term storage moves to a self-custodial wallet on TON; yield comes through bemo / Tonstakers at 5-7% APR in TON.

Frequently asked

No, not at full capacity. Since 2024 Binance has closed registrations for RF residents and restricted operations on existing accounts with Russian KYC. If you hold residence in another country (Belarus, Kazakhstan, EU, UAE, Serbia, Georgia, Armenia, Turkey) with documents from there, Binance works fully. Using VPN to bypass while physically in RF violates Terms of Service and risks account freeze with funds locked.
Basic Verified — passport or national ID from your country of residence plus selfie. Withdrawal cap is typically 100 BTC/day, more than enough for any TON volume. For P2P and SEPA/wire fiat deposits you may also need proof of address (bank statement or utility bill, max 3 months old). Verification Plus adds video verification and higher limits, not needed for most users.
Empirical 2024-2025: minimum withdrawal on the TON network is 1 TON, with a fixed exchange fee around 0.1 TON. The TON network itself is cheap (≤0.05 TON per transaction), but Binance adds a fixed fee on top. Painful for tiny withdrawals (10% on 1 TON), trivial on large ones. Always check the current fee on the Withdraw page at the moment.
Self-custodial wallets (Tonkeeper, MyTonWallet) are safer from a **custody risk** standpoint — you hold the private key, no exchange can freeze your funds. Binance is safer from an **operational risk** standpoint — no risk of losing your seed phrase or sending to a wrong address. Rule of thumb: keep funds on exchange for active trading; move to self-custody for long-term holds (>$5K, >1 month).
Standard maker/taker fee is 0.1%/0.1% for a basic account. With 10% BNB discount it drops to 0.075%/0.075%. VIP tiers go as low as 0.02% maker. Spread on TON/USDT is typically 0.05-0.1% under normal liquidity; widens to 0.3-0.5% during volatility. For comparison: P2P shows 0% explicit fee but hides 1-3% in the maker's quote; spot shows 0.1% openly.
Only if you understand leverage and liquidation. Binance offers TON-USDT-PERP with up to 50x leverage; realistically use 2-3x maximum. Funding rate on TON is volatile: under strong trends it can hit 0.03-0.1% every 8 hours (that's ~33-100% APR, plus or minus). If you want directional exposure to TON price, use futures — but only with a small portion of capital (≤10% of portfolio) and always with a stop-loss.
For non-RF users: Bybit (good liquidity, softer KYC), OKX (excellent TON support, cheaper withdrawals), Coinbase (US residents, but limited TON listing), Kraken (EU, TON pair available). For P2P without a CEX: STON.fi or DeDust DEX directly on TON. For cold-storage right after buying: move to Tonkeeper or MyTonWallet.
