Pros
- Widest TON-NFT catalogue: classic collections, gaming, gifts, usernames, numbers
- On-chain settlement in TON — every swap is recorded on-chain, verifiable on TonScan
- Open-source TIP-62 / 64 standards, royalty support baked into contracts
- Rich collection analytics — floor, volume, holders, rarity graphs
- Direct offers and auctions beyond floor — broader price-discovery mechanics
Cons
- Upgraded-gifts liquidity trails Portals / Tonnel — gift traders prefer bot marketplaces
- Backend is centralised (settlements are still on-chain)
- Higher UX bar for non-crypto users
- Fees are higher than gift-specific marketplaces in auction mode
- Heavy focus on new drops can distract from the secondary market
What it is and who it fits
Getgems (`getgems.io`) is the oldest and largest NFT marketplace on TON, live since 2022. Functionally it is the OpenSea / Magic Eden equivalent for TON: collection listings (standard TIP-62 / 64 NFTs and upgraded gifts), auctions, direct offers, collection pages with rarity metadata, per-collection analytics. The strength is the widest catalogue: alongside upgraded gifts Getgems hosts 'classic' TON collections — Anonymous Telegram Numbers, Telegram Usernames, art collections, gaming NFTs — which makes it the default entry point into TON NFTs. Contracts are open-source TIP standards; the backend is centralised. Sales settle on-chain in TON through the standard TIP-62 sale contract, which differentiates Getgems from gifts-bot markets: each deal is recorded on the chain and you can verify addresses and amounts on TonScan. The downside is upgraded-gifts liquidity — Portals and Tonnel won that war on UX. For every other NFT category in TON, Getgems is the base layer.
