What it is and who it fits

Portals (`@portals` on Telegram, `portals.market` on web) is the secondary marketplace where most of the upgraded-gifts trading volume has consolidated by 2026. Launched in 2024 after Telegram opened the API for trading upgraded gifts through bots. Architecturally it is a centralised order book with escrow inside the Telegram infrastructure: the seller transfers the gift to the bot, the bot holds it until payment, the order closes with a simultaneous TON-and-gift transfer. It is not an on-chain swap, but it is effectively safe because Telegram itself validates ownership transfer. The strength is the deepest liquidity for top collections (Plush Pepe, Durov's Cap, and so on), a useful rarity + traits filter and fast mobile UX inside Telegram. The downsides match the model: the operator knows all trades, can ban an account or freeze a deal, and in an incident you wait on support. For liquid segments and well-known references this is the default pick.
